The Porta Paddle -A update eliminated the need for nuts and wrench to secure adjustments on the paddle. The nuts were replaced by springs, which provide necessary force to maintain gap and spring adjustments without a locking nut and wrench. The update kit contains all parts necessary to convert to the -A version: Two contact screws, one spring adjuster screw, and three springs. The parts are simply swapped with the existing screws with no other changes needed. The Delrin nut on the original spring adjuster is reused on the new adjuster screw, and the original operating spring is used. Lose your wrench!
Please note: The -II update changed the lever pivot shafts and their
mounting system. This change did not effect paddle function in any way,
but was made to make the manufacture of the unit more efficient, and to
make the design more “kit-able”. The gold anodized Pivot Retainer will
not fit earlier “snap-ring” versions without re-machining of the base
and would serve no purpose; the Pivot Retainer is not available separately.
